Our Partner Charities:
The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House
The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House cares for over 200 people every month of the year at the hospice and in people’s homes. Our aim is to ensure that our patients, and those close to them, can live life to the full and experience peace, respect and dignity to the very end of life.
On average the EAAA are called to four incidents a day, life threatening situations such as road traffic accidents, incidents involving people in inaccessible places, cardiac arrests. Because of the advanced skills, drugs and equipment found on board, and being able to access places impossible for a land ambulance, the EAAA can make the difference.
The National Osteoporosis Society is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of those with and at risk of osteoporosis. The Society receives no government funding so relies upon the generous donations of supporters. These funds enable the charity to run an Osteoporosis Helpline, lobby and campaign for better provisions for those affected by osteoporosis, fund research projects and continue with its developing education programme. For more information call 01761 471771 or email info@nos.org.uk.
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund provides financial and practical assistance to anyone who is serving, or has ever served in the RAF, and their partners and dependants too. It offers grants, care and mobility services to individuals, as well as funding large-scale projects such as RAF childcare.
For over sixty years the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) has worked tirelessly to provide support to serving soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need. The people we support include those with disabilities or mental illness, people experiencing homelessness or unemployment, and older people.
The Scout Association provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for 400,000 young people aged 6-25. For full details on Norfolk Scouts, their activities and how you are able to help the Association, please use the link above.
The CLA Charitable Trust was founded by CLA members in 1980 to help disabled people in England and Wales. The Charitable Trust achieves its objectives through grants and advice to those who wish to provide such facilities.
Norfolk Federation of Women's Institute
We are delighted to have 180 WIs in our Norfolk Federation with over 6,000 members. Several WIs have fewer than ten members and the largest has 97, so the range is diverse. The first Institutes were set up in 1918, and the Federation in 1919. The office is housed in a Georgian building in the middle of Norwich where we have been since 1954.
The Rotary Club of Downham Market are supporting the Stradsett Garden Show 2009 along with many other Rotarians from the Rotary District 1080.
True's Yard is all that remains of King's Lynn's old fishing community, the North End, which existed for hundreds of years, and which was finally demolished in the clearances of the 1930’s and the 1960’s. A visit to True'sYard today, which is dedicated to preserving the memory of those people, still conveys much of that feeling of gritty endurance against the odds.A visit to True'sYard today, which is dedicated to preserving the memory of those people, still conveys much of that feeling of gritty endurance against the odds.
The outline of this delightful Church in the Park is typical of a country Church 700 years ago, with its square unbuttressed West tower, and continuous walls for nave and chancel. There is no chancel arch, but there are both North and South doors for the nave, and a Priest's door. These are all features of the Early English period.
